Into Deep Winter & Exciting things ahead

As winter gently unfolds here in Byron Bay, I find myself reflecting on how much beauty this season has brought. Life has been wonderfully full, with family, community, study, and the exciting preparations for our upcoming AGNI Protocol Retreat.

Winter has always been a season that invites us inward. In Ayurveda, it is a time to nourish, restore and build strength. It feels like nature encourages us to slow down just enough to reconnect with what truly matters. This season has certainly reminded me of that.

One of the highlights of our winter was continuing our family tradition of spending time at Minnie Water during the school holidays. There is something incredibly special about being immersed in nature with the people we love. The simplicity of camping, sharing meals, long beach walks and quiet moments together always fills my heart.

And then... the whales!

Watching these magnificent creatures swimming along our coastline never ceases to amaze me. Every year I feel like a child again, completely in awe of their presence. This year I had the amazing opportunity to swim with the whales! They remind me of the incredible intelligence and rhythm of nature, and how much we can learn simply by observing and slowing down enough to truly notice the world around us.

Alongside family life, I have also been deeply immersed in my Ayurveda studies, currently studying Ahara Vijnana I (the Science of Food).

Returning to these foundational teachings has been incredibly enriching. Sometimes we think that learning is always about discovering something completely new, but what I continue to experience with Ayurveda is that every time we revisit the fundamentals, they reveal themselves on a much deeper level.

It is as though each year of practice, each client consultation, each conversation with teachers and fellow practitioners opens another layer of understanding.

This is one of the many reasons why I love Ayurveda so much.

It is an endless ocean of wisdom.

The more we study, the more we realise there is still to learn. Reading the classical texts, listening to our teachers, exchanging experiences with colleagues and students, and remaining curious keeps the knowledge alive. Ayurveda isn't simply something to memorise; it is something to observe, question, experience and live every single day.

Another beautiful part of this journey has been our growing Ayurveda Sangha in the Northern Rivers.

It has truly been a joy to connect with other practitioners, clinic owners, students and people who simply love Ayurveda.

Rather than seeing one another as competitors, we are building a community of collaboration. We share ideas, discuss case studies, support each other, learn together and celebrate each other's work.

That feels incredibly meaningful to me.

When we work together with openness and generosity, Ayurveda becomes stronger. Every practitioner brings unique gifts, experiences and perspectives, and together we can help Ayurveda become more accessible, respected and integrated within Australia—and, in turn, contribute to its growth around the world.

Perhaps the biggest excitement at the moment is that our AGNI Protocol Retreat is now just around the corner.

I honestly still can't quite believe it.

This retreat has been a dream of mine for a long time, and over the past year I have poured so much love, intention and dedication into bringing it to life.

To soon welcome everyone together feels incredibly special.

It will also be such an honour to host my dear teacher, Vaidya Matheus Macêdo, here in Byron Bay. His depth of knowledge, generosity and passion for Ayurveda have inspired me for many years, and I know everyone attending will receive invaluable teachings.

Throughout the retreat we will explore how to strengthen Agni, our digestive fire—the foundation of health according to Ayurveda.

Together we will enjoy nourishing Ayurvedic meals, yoga, meditation, workshops, sound healing, community, rest and practical teachings that participants can continue integrating long after the retreat has finished.

If you have been thinking about joining us, we still have a few places available.

I would absolutely love to welcome you.

Whether you are completely new to Ayurveda or already have experience, this retreat has been created to support you wherever you are on your journey.

If you feel called to be there, please get in touch. It would be wonderful to share this experience with you.

Another event I'm especially excited to announce is our free community workshop:

Live Well. Age Well.

This inspiring workshop will be presented by Vaidya Matheus Macêdo and will explore the Ayurvedic perspective on healthy ageing, vitality and longevity.

Together we'll discuss practical lifestyle habits, the importance of nurturing our digestive fire (Agni), and simple daily practices that can help us live healthier, more balanced and vibrant lives.

The workshop is open to everyone.

Whether you already know Ayurveda or are simply curious to learn more, I would love to see you there. Please bring your family, friends, a picnic blanket or chair, and join us for what promises to be a beautiful afternoon of learning and connection.

As I write this, my heart is full of gratitude.

Gratitude for my family, for my teachers, for my students, for this incredible community, and for everyone who continues to support VIDA Ayurveda.

Every consultation, every conversation, every workshop and every shared experience reminds me why I chose this path so many years ago.

Thank you for being part of this journey.

I look forward to connecting with many of you in person very soon—whether at the retreat, the community workshop, in the clinic, or somewhere along the beautiful beaches of Byron Bay.

With warmth and gratitude,
